Quality & Authenticity
Every thread verified. Every weave certified. At NYSA SILK, authenticity is not a claim — it is a commitment woven into every saree we present.
Certification
The Silk Mark is a quality assurance label promoted by the Central Silk Board under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. It guarantees that the product is made of pure natural silk.
Every NYSA SILK saree is sourced exclusively from Silk Mark authorised weavers and carries the official Silk Mark label. This is your assurance that what you drape is genuine, pure silk.
Look for the Silk Mark holographic label on the saree border or pallu. Each label carries a unique code that can be verified on the Silk Mark Organisation website.

Government Certified
The Handloom Mark is a certification by the Government of India that guarantees a textile has been handwoven on a traditional loom — not manufactured by a power loom. It safeguards the livelihoods of millions of handloom weavers across India.
At NYSA SILK, we source from weavers who carry both the Silk Mark and the Handloom Mark, giving you double assurance of purity and craftsmanship. When you buy a handloom saree from us, you are investing directly in a living tradition.
Our Standards
Pure silk smells like burning hair and leaves a fine, crushable ash. Synthetic fibres melt into hard beads with a chemical odour. Every batch we source is burn-tested before acceptance.
Genuine silk warms to the touch when rubbed between fingers. It has a subtle texture that synthetics cannot replicate. Our artisans train for years to identify silk by feel alone.
Pure silk shimmers and shifts colour under changing light, displaying a natural iridescence. This lustre is the hallmark of mulberry silk and cannot be manufactured.
Silk has a distinct weight-to-drape ratio. We weigh every saree against established benchmarks for its weave type. Deviations signal impure yarn or adulteration.
Zari Standards
Zari is the metallic thread that gives a silk saree its luminous borders and motifs. Not all zari is equal. Here is how we classify it.
Real gold or silver foil wrapped around a silk thread core. Tarnish-resistant, heirloom quality. Used in our premium and bridal collections.
Copper wire coated with gold or silver electroplating. More affordable while retaining a warm metallic sheen. Clearly labelled in all our listings.
Metallic polyester yarn. We do not use synthetic zari in any NYSA SILK product. If a saree contains it, it will never carry our name.
The Unboxing
Your saree is not shipped — it is presented. Every detail of our packaging honours the craft within.
A custom-made, fabric-wrapped rigid box designed for storage and gifting. No flimsy cardboard — this is a box you keep.
Each saree is wrapped in acid-free silk tissue paper to preserve its sheen and prevent creasing during transit.
A handwritten card that identifies the weaver, the loom, and the region of origin. Every drape has a maker.
A breathable muslin bag for long-term storage, protecting the fabric from dust and moisture without trapping humidity.
